A local business is missing $3,376 worth of silverware rings after a burglary Feb. 1, according to Columbus Division of Police web reports.

The crime occurred between 3:06 a.m. and 1 p.m. in the 200 block of East Kossuth Street, reports said.

Someone entered the store by breaking a stained-glass window, causing $700 worth of damage.

In other recent incident reports from the area:

* A thief was allegedly caught on camera stealing $400 worth of merchandise from the front porch of a residence in the 700 block of South Fifth Street.

The homeowner said he noticed the items missing the morning of Feb. 4. He said the theft, which occurred between 4:40 and 4:43 a.m., was caught on video-surveillance equipment.

The homeowner said the video appeared to show a woman stealing from the porch a rug and pad, valued at $150 total, a door mat worth $50, decorative lanterns valued at $120 and candles worth $30.

* A $2,000 television was stolen at 12:25 a.m. Feb. 7 in the 1000 block of City Park Avenue.

The suspect apparently caused $500 worth of damage to a rear door, when he broke into the residence, reports said.

* A man said another man threatened him with a kitchen knife at 10:45 p.m. Feb. 4 in the 700 block of South High Street.

The suspect then fled on foot, reports said.

* A man said he was assaulted at 8:15 p.m. Feb. 2 in the 1000 block of City Park Avenue.

The victim said he was sitting in the passenger seat of a vehicle when the suspect reached in and grabbed him.
