Officers arrested a shoplifter at 6:57 p.m. Feb. 27 before he was able to make it out of a store in the 2700 block of Taylor Road Extension. According to the police report, the man was trying to leave the store with 15 to 20 bags of merchandise.
In other Reynoldsburg police reports:
* A staff member at Herbert Mills Elementary, 6826 Retton Road, reported at 3:09 p.m. that a white man "tried to get into the school" to pick up a student. He was described as wearing red pants, a dark or light gray shirt. He had a tattoo on the back of his neck. The staff member said the man was not making sense when he talked to her and seemed "strung out."
According to the police report, the man left the school heading east on Rosehill Road toward East Main Street. Officers searched the area, but could not locate him.
* Domestic violence and drug charges are pending against a man who was arrested at 5:40 p.m. Feb. 25 at a business in the 13000 block of Reynoldsburg-Baltimore Road. Police reports said the man's girlfriend called 911, then the line was disconnected after she said he was "scuffling to get her keys" and was "on meth" and other drugs.
* A man told police someone kicked in the back door of his residence on Rosehill Road before 1:04 a.m. Feb. 25. He said he got home from visiting an urgent-care facility and found the door kicked in and the door frame broken. Nothing appeared to be missing from the house, according to the police report.
* A man told police he heard what sounded like 13 gunshots at 8:19 p.m. Feb. 27 near an apartment complex in the 700 block of Marlan Avenue. Officers checked the area, but could not locate any suspects.
