The Whitehall Division of Police seized heroin with a street value of more than a quarter-million dollars after executing a search warrant March 16 at a residence in the 5000 block of Doral Avenue in Whitehall.
Police arrested Manuel Espinoza-Berumen, 23, of Doral Avenue for possession of heroin, a first-degree felony.
The search warrant was executed after a month-long investigation into trafficking in drugs, Whitehall Sgt. Jonathan Earl said.
Detectives of the division's narcotics unit seized 2,597 grams of heroin with an estimated street value of $259,700.
Detectives also found 415 grams of marijuana and an AK-47 rifle, reports said.
The amount of heroin seized is equal to about 26,000 doses of heroin "that will not make it out on the streets of Whitehall and Columbus tonight," Deputy Chief Dan Kelso said.
