The Hilliard Planning and Zoning Commission on April 12 took action on two of the three proposed hotels in the city's Cemetery Road corridor west of Interstate 270.

As expected, the application for a lot split and a sign package for Tru by Hilton was postponed until May 10. The four-story, 97-room hotel would be to the immediate west of Hampton Inn & Suites, 3950 Lyman Drive. 

Meanwhile, Innsight Hospitality LLC's application for a rezoning and a lot split on the 5.61-acre former JD Equipment site at 4079 Lyman Drive.

The rezoning to a planned-unit development and the lot split must be approved by Hilliard City Council.

The company wants to build $12.6 million, 94-room TownPlace Suites on the site, but the hotel application is yet to be considered by the planning-and-zoning commission, according to economic-development director David Meadows. 

The application for the third hotel – InterContinental Hotels Group's Avid Hotel at the former McDonald’s site at the northwest corner of Cemetery Road and Lyman Drive – is expected to be introduced May 10 to the planning-and-zoning commission, Meadows said.
