Whitehall police recovered 15 guns, more than 1,000 grams of marijuana and more than $1,700 in cash after executing a search warrant May 2 at a residence at 807 Westphal Ave. in Whitehall.
An arrest warrant has been issued for a 25-year-old man living at the residence, the target of an investigation, who was not there when Whitehall’s narcotic unit served the warrant early May 2.
Jacob Lawrence, 25, of Westphal Avenue is charged with possession of drugs, a fourth-degree felony, and possessing weapons under disability, a third-degree felony.
Because Lawrence has a prior criminal history, he cannot lawfully possess firearms, according to Whitehall Deputy Chief Dan Kelso.
At the Westphal Avenue residence, police found 15 guns, 1,198 grams of marijuana, $1,711 in cash, and an undetermined amount of psilocybin mushrooms and ecstasy pills, police said.
Two of the 15 firearms recovered had previously been reported stolen, police said.
The arrest illustrates the connection between drug trafficking and violence, Kelso said.
“Taking individuals like this off our streets makes for a safer Whitehall and a safer society for all of us.”
