Dublin's Memorial Day observance will be held Monday, May 28, and will include the traditional ceremony in the Dublin Cemetery.
After the ceremony will be a complimentary picnic lunch in Monterey Park.
The day's events will begin at 11 a.m. with a procession along Bridge Street (state Route 161) from the Shoppes at River Ridge to Dublin Cemetery.
The procession will stop on the bridge over the Scioto River and a wreath will be cast upon the water in remembrance of those who lost their lives at sea.
At 11:30 a.m., the Memorial Day commemoration will begin in the cemetery off West Bridge Street, near Monterey Drive.
Chuck and Carol Hoffman, the parents of Marine Corps Sgt. Justin Hoffman, will speak at the ceremony. Hoffman was killed in service in 2005 as a member of Lima Company, 3rd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment
Lima Company was a reserve unit called to active duty during the Iraq War.
The unit suffered some of the heaviest casualties during the war, with 22 Marines and a Navy corpsman killed while fighting near Haditha.
Family members of George Seeds, who was killed in action in World War II, also will speak.
