TWINSBURG — After a successful pilot program this year, Twinsburg Chabad will open a Sunday/Hebrew School this coming 2018-19 school year, for grades 1-4.
Both the Twinsburg Chabad congregation and the school meet in the Gary Drive home of Rabbi Mendy Greenberg and his wife. For larger worship or High Holy Days services, the congregation meets in the Twinsburg Community Center.
Registration is open to all and no membership is required for the school.
The school will offer a stimulating and friendly environment where children experience their Jewish roots and acquire a broad knowledge of Judaism with fun, camp style learning. Through Hebrew reading, Jewish history, holidays and more, the students will gain an appreciation for the joys, values and traditions of their heritage.
“Over the past year, my wife Mussie taught a small group of children on Wednesdays,” Greenberg said. “The program was a wonderful success. When more parents asked if there was space to join, we decided it was time to upgrade to a full-in Hebrew School.”
The hands-on learning style offered at the school encourages children to be active rather than passive learners.
“The underlying approach is that the children thoroughly enjoy their time spent at Hebrew School, so that they are left with positive experiences and a greater appreciation for Jewish life,” Greenberg says.
The program is therefore full of games, incentives, crafts, dramatics, family celebrations and other exciting extracurricular activities.
“We are excited to offer this opportunity, conveniently located right here in Twinsburg,” he said.
The Hebrew School will be conducted Sunday mornings for grades 1-2 and on Sunday mornings and Wednesday afternoons for grade 3-4. To register, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 440-465-2063.
