Summer has ushered in two new major developments for the Bexley Area Chamber of Commerce: a move to a new location at 544 S. Drexel Ave. and the release of its 2018-19 member directory.

Both developments occurred at the end of June.

Moving from its previous location at 2770 E. Main St. to the Drexel Avenue office will help increase the organization's visibility, said Elaine Phillips Pelz, the chamber's executive director.

"We're going to have a larger space," she said. "It will give people who want to find out about Bexley access to come right to our front door."

Phillips Pelz said the Drexel Avenue office is a prime location because of its proximity to high-traffic landmarks like Bexley City Hall, 2242 E. Main St.; Capital University, 1 College and Main; and the Drexel Theatre, 2254 E. Main St.

"We're growing," she said. "Being more visible gives us a chance to better serve the business community and Bexley as a whole."

The Bexley Chamber Member Directory lists the contact information and profiles of local businesses. The guide also includes information about community resources, including historical and demographic data about Bexley, cultural organizations such as the Bexley Public Library, health and wellness options such as the fitness facilities at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Columbus, and educational institutions such as Capital, the Bexley City School District, the Columbus School for Girls and St. Charles Preparatory School.

The directory also highlights events such as the Main Event summer entertainment series that has programs scheduled for July 13 at the David H. Madison Community Pool and Aug. 10 and Sept. 21 on Capital's front lawn. It spotlights the Taste of Bexley, the chamber's signature event offering fare from central Ohio restaurants. It is set for Oct. 8 at St. Charles, 2010 E. Broad St.

"The directory gives a great overview of our community," Phillips Pelz said.

The member directory is available on the chamber's website, Hard copies are available at the office. For more information, call 614-236-4500.
