It appears a restaurant called Kollektiv will replace the vacant Max & Erma’s in German Village.
According to documents filed with the city of Columbus by the property owner, all three floors of the building are expected to be completely remodeled.
The 3,000-square-foot main floor will be a restaurant of some type. Much of the existing furniture will be removed, plans indicate, and some elements rebuilt.
The applicant did not indicate what type of establishment Kollektiv would be, exactly. No one from 739 German Village LLC, the property owner, would comment on the matter.
Kollektiv is the German spelling of collective in English.
According to the plans, the tenant does not intend to install restrooms on the first floor. The restrooms in the basement, however, will be completely overhauled, documents said.
Office space on the second and third floors, each 2,140 square feet, will be remodeled as well, plans show. They’re currently vacant.
Max & Erma’s closed last August after 45 years in business.
