Clintonville-Beechwold Community Resources Center officials will celebrate the completed renovation of the 14 W. Lakeview Ave. building Tuesday, July 24.
An open house at what was once the CRC's headquarters will be 4 to 8 p.m. A ribbon-cutting is set for 4:30 followed by a barbecue and community meal at 5 p.m.
"At 6 p.m. everyone is welcome to help unload the weekly Mid-Ohio Foodbank produce delivery," Stephanie Kim Baker, associate director of the settlement house, said in a news release.
The renovation of the 1929 building was made possible with funding from the Osteopathic Heritage Foundation, Columbus Foundation, Medical Mutual and Bob Mills and July Kleen.
The Ohio State University Department of Design donated design services. The project architect was Bass Studios Architect and construction was completed by Mid-Ohio Construction. The new furnishings for the building came from King Business Interiors.
The West Lakeview Avenue structure, at one time site of the neighborhood's first library, now houses Family Services the Choice Food Pantry, which operated out of a rented storefront on North High Street adjacent to the current headquarters location.
"CRC's Family Services and Choice Food Pantry distributes over 500,000 meals each year including weekly fresh produce, and serves four weekly community meals," Baker said.
