More than 30 vehicles were vandalized July 9 and 10 in German Village and Merion Village, causing an undetermined amount of damage.
Twenty-six individual reports were made between 9 p.m. July 9 and 6:30 p.m. July 10 from residents of South Fifth and East Sycamore streets but the number of vehicles damaged wasn't specific, according to Columbus Division of Police web reports.
The cars were either sprayed with paint or had their finishes scratched with a sharp object, possibly a key, reports said.
An additional eight vehicles were damaged between 7 p.m. and 8 a.m. July 10 on East Gates and Jaeger streets. In those instances, the cars were sprayed with paint.
In other recent incident reports from the area:
* A $2,000 vehicle, model, make and manufacturing date unknown, was stolen between 9 p.m. July 5 and 12:01 a.m. July 6 from the 700 block of City Park Avenue.
The victim told police the keys were inside the vehicle, which was later recovered.
* A bicycle, value unknown, was stolen between 12:30 and 6:30 a.m. July 8 from a garage in the 800 block of Beech Street.
* A vehicle was damaged between 3 p.m. July 9 and noon July 10 in the 600 block of South Grant Avenue.
The suspect said he noticed scratches on the side of his car.
