Officers responded to a complaint of a person with a knife inside a business in the 3000 block of Indianola Avenue at 9:50 p.m. July 17.

Officers spoke with an employee who said the suspect had demanded a refund of $16 for tickets, "stating that he was from out of town and could not use the tickets," according to the report.

When advised he would not be receiving a refund, the employee said the person "grabbed a tip jar and counted out $16, put back the rest of the tip money and proceeded to exit."

In other Clintonville-area police reports:

* Two women told officers they were robbed at 1:30 a.m. July 18 at the intersection of North High Street and Clinton Heights Avenue by a man with a handgun.

The victims said the suspects took cellphones valued at $600 from each of them. One woman told the responding officer she was robbed of $50 in cash while the other said she was robbed of $8 and a pack of cigarettes valued at $6.

* A $2,000 scooter was reported stolen at 1:23 p.m. July 15 while parked on the street in the 300 block of Olentangy Street. The owner said the theft took place after 11 p.m. July 14.

* A Chicago man called police at 7 p.m. July 13 to report that at 12:29 that afternoon, someone used his debit card at the Kroger store in Graceland Shopping Center.

"The victim stated he is in possession of his debit card and is unsure how his numbers had been compromised," according to the officer who took the complaint.

* An official with a store in the first block of Graceland Boulevard filed an embezzlement report at 1:47 p.m. July 12.

The representative said a suspect, between March 1 and June 23, had taken from the store $5,000 worth of cellphones, a $350 watch and $400 in gift cards.
