The German Village Society's search for a new executive director is officially on.
A five-member committee has created a job description and is actively seeking to replace Shiloh Todorov, who recently announced she intends to leave her post as Society director in October.
Society Board of Trustees members Joshua Zimmerman, Greg Gamier and Terri Dalenta, and non-board members Carol Mullinax and Darrell Van Ligten have posted the job description on germanvillage.com, LinkedIn and Ohio preservation websites.
Among the duties of the executive director are fundraising, financial management, strategic planning, public relations and management of staff and volunteers.
Yes, there is some light lifting required, but no more than 35 pounds.
Zimmerman said he hopes the committee will have a finalist picked by the society's September meeting, when the full board will vote on the candidate.
Todorov announced her resignation via an email June 27 to members of the society. Since then, the society has received "multiple" resumes, said Zimmerman, vice president of the Society's board. He said he expects 30 to 40 resumes but 100 "would be optimal."
Todorov has served seven years with organization.
"We're excited about it," Zimmerman said about the replacement effort. "Obviously (we have) big shoes to fill."
On a related note, Society board President Heidi Drake has also announced she intends to resign in September because she is moving to Granville after living in German Village for nearly 30 years.
