Reynoldsburg police have released the name of a man whose body was found along a bike path at Huber Park yesterday, Aug. 1.
People attempting to walk on the bike path last evening had encountered crime-scene tape and were turned away by police officers.
Reynoldsburg police Lt. Ron Wright confirmed on Aug. 2 that a body with a gunshot wound was found at 7:48 p.m. Aug. 1 near Blacklick Creek, near Spangler Field. Spangler Field is near East Livingston Avenue in Huber Park. The main entrance to Huber is at 1520 Davidson Drive.
The body of Andre McGaughey, 27, was found “near Blacklick Creek with a gunshot wound to the head,” Wright said.
According to the news release, which the police department also posted on Facebook, the wound appears to have been self-inflicted.
He said McGaughey’s death is still under investigation as officers gather evidence to rule out foul play.
