Cancer Support Community Central Ohio officials recently announced the appointment of Lisa King to the board of directors.

King, a New Albany resident, is founder and CEO of Brownie Points, an online gourmet-brownie business.

In addition to her general board responsibilities, King will serve on the marketing committee and the development committee.

"I always follow my heart," King said. "After my initial visit to the Cancer Support Community, meeting the incredible staff led by Bev and experiencing the difference they make in so many lives, quite simply I knew my heart found a new home. Each visit thereafter has only further confirmed this for me. I want to help, and I want to be involved."

"Our organization has created a wonderful partnership with Lisa King and her company, Brownie Points," Bev Soult, President and CEO of Cancer Support Community Central Ohio, said in a statement.

"They are planning to launch a new product with a portion of the proceeds benefitting our organization. We are very grateful for Lisa's generosity and are excited that she has agreed to join our board."

The board has 35 members.

The mission of Cancer Support Community Central Ohio is to ensure that all people affected by cancer are empowered by knowledge, strengthened by action, and sustained by community.
