Several Interstate 270 ramp closures and lane reductions near Hilliard will be in effect from 7 p.m. tonight, Wednesday, Aug. 22, to 5 a.m. Thursday morning, Aug. 23, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation.
At 7 p.m. Aug. 22, the Exit 13A ramp from I-270 North to eastbound Fishinger Boulevard will close for ramp repairs. It will reopen at 5 a.m. Aug. 23.
The detour is continuing on I-270 north to Tuttle Crossing Boulevard and re-entering I-270 going southbound.
Exit 13B to westbound Cemetery Road from I-270 North closed Aug. 12.
It is scheduled to reopen, weather permitting, on Sept. 2, said Nancy Burton, a spokeswoman for ODOT’s District 6.
Both eastbound and westbound exits to Hilliard from I-270 South remain open.
Lane reductions also will be in effect overnight Aug. 22 and 23.
“While ramps closures are an inconvenience to the public, they are necessary to construct the I-270 west-side outerbelt improvements,” Letty Schamp, Hilliard’s deputy city engineer, said last week.
A $62 million widening project that includes a 7-mile section of I-270 between Dublin and Hilliard and is scheduled to be completed this fall, according to Burton.
However, the final surface improvements will not be finished until 2019, she said.
