Superintendent Michael Sawyers said he plans to highlight the New Albany-Plain Local School District's latest achievements during the State of the Schools address at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22, at the Jeanne B. McCoy Community Center for the Arts, 100 W. Dublin-Granville Road.
No registration or tickets are necessary.
Sawyers said he would report on students' academic achievement, well-being and growth. He said he would include a high-level overview of the district's grades on the Ohio Department of Education's recent report card, on which the district received an A grade.
Treasurer Rebecca Jenkins also will review the financial health of the district, Sawyers said.
District spokesman Patrick Gallaway said the event is good for not only parents and families, but for any resident who wants to learn more about the investment they have made in their schools.
The annual address is an opportunity to help residents, especially those who don't have students in the district but still pay taxes, understand the work happening, Sawyers said.
"It's beyond our school population," he said.
Sawyers said he would be available after the address to answer questions from community members. After the event, video of the State of the Schools will be posted on the district website, napls.us.
