A suspect made off with a $1,100 cellphone after swiping it from a vehicle at 1:06 a.m. Oct. 19 in the 600 block of South High Street.
The victim told Columbus police he was refueling at a gasoline station when he witnessed the suspect steal the phone.
In other recent Columbus Division of Police incident reports from the area:
* A woman said a suspect made vague threats toward her and her property at noon Oct. 20 in the 1200 block of South High Street.
* At 5 p.m. Oct. 21, the theft of $2 was reported by a business in the 100 block of Thurman Avenue.
* At 11 p.m. Oct. 23 in the 900 block of South High Street, several vehicles were damaged.
Although police reports weren't specific about how many vehicles were targeted, reports said three windows were broken, causing an estimated $600 total in damage, and a $30 cellphone charger and $100 in miscellaneous CDs were stolen.
