Hilliard Division of Police officers arrested a 33-year-old man on charges of OVI and aggravated vehicular assault early Nov. 11, according to police spokeswoman Andrea Litchfield.
Officers were dispatched to a car-accident report at Avery and Hayden Run roads at 11:35 p.m. Nov. 10, she said. A vehicle was in the intersection, but the at-fault driver had fled, she said.
After interviewing witnesses, officers tracked down the vehicle at a residence and arrested the driver, Litchfield said.
The driver admitted to drinking alcohol prior to driving, and an alcoholic beverage was found in the vehicle, she said.
The at-fault driver's vehicle sustained significant front-end damage, with both airbags deployed, Litchfield said. The other vehicle also was damaged, and its driver suffered injuries, she said.
Other charges are pending, but no additional details were available because the case is active, she said.
