A Westerville couple reported $30,000 to $40,000 worth of jewelry, a television and other items were stolen between Nov. 22 and Nov. 24 from their residence in the 300 block of Tallowood Drive.
The couple filed a claim with their insurance company. No charges have been filed.
In other recent Westerville police reports:
* Two Newark women, one 47 years old and the other 30 years old, were arrested on charges of theft for stealing $367 worth of brand-name apparel and women's underwear from a store in the 100 block of Huber Village Boulevard at 5:39 p.m. Nov. 24. The 47-year-old woman admitted to stealing the items as payment for methamphetamine, according to reports.
Two accomplices, a 31-year-old and a 35-year-old who both are Newark residents, were stopped in a car outside. They were charged with possession of controlled substance, illegal use and possession of drugs, possession of drug-abuse instruments and complicity to theft.
All were transported to the Franklin County jail.
* A Westerville resident reported Nov. 19 there has been suspicious activity on one of her credit cards. She told police that between May and June of this year, there were $487 worth of charges she did not make, according to reports.
* Police said a man shot himself in the foot Nov. 18 on Parkview Avenue. According to reports, the man was attempting to do a dry-fire test and never took the magazine out of the gun.
