A broken water pipe interrupted classes at Reynoldsburg High School’s Summit Road campus Jan. 22 but quickly was repaired.

The pipe burst in the performing-arts center at the high school, 8579 Summit Road, shortly before 7 a.m., triggering a fire alarm.

The district evacuated students to the nearby Summit Elementary School gym before canceling classes for the remainder of the day.

Classes and events resumed as normal today, Jan. 23.

No substantial damage to the building was reported, as most of the water was contained to the building’s finished floors, district spokeswoman Valerie Wunder said. Planned events at the school are not expected to be affected, she said.

Repairs were completed at an estimated cost of $2,500, Wunder said.
