Ernesto F. Valdespino of Westerville was riding his bicycle northbound without lights in the center lane of Sunbury Road near Yellowhammer Drive around 6:35 p.m. Feb. 3 when his bicycle was hit from behind by a 1997 Jeep Cherokee driven by Leiland Al-Assad, no age listed, of Columbus, the sheriff's office said in a release.
