Graeter's Ice Cream is moving its Bethel Road location down the street and a new ReStore location will take its place.

Habitat for Humanity MidOhio, which runs ReStore, has the 2555 Bethel Road building under contract, said E. J. Thomas, Habitat for Humanity MidOhio CEO.

ReStore is a home-improvement store selling new and gently used furniture, appliances, home goods and building materials.

This will be the third ReStore location in Columbus; the others are on Westerville Road in northeast Columbus and on North Wilson Road near the Hilltop.

The nonprofit organization has been working to get a ReStore location in northwest Columbus.

"We locate ReStore based off where our donors are," Thomas said. "The addition of another ReStore means the addition of more revenue to help support our mission."

Habitat for Humanity MidOhio's mission is to help deserving families own their own homes.

It is seeking to add a fourth ReStore location in Newark, Thomas said.

Graeter's is moving about half a mile down the street to 2136 Bethel Road and is tentatively set to open its new 11,269-square-foot location April 1.

The new Graeter's is the site of a former Family Dollar store. It will have room for office space, a training facility, the company's Columbus catering headquarters, a drive-through window and an updated children's play area.

The play area comes with many improvements, including new things to for kids to play on and a small ice cream truck.

The Cincinnati-based chain has 40 retail stores in five states.
