Officials with Gahanna and the Gahanna Area Chamber of Commerce will host their first joint State of the City Address at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 14, at the Gahanna Sanctuary, 82 N. High St.

“This year, we are excited to partner with the Gahanna Area Chamber of Commerce to present a jointly sponsored State of the City address to the community,” said Tom Kneeland, Gahanna mayor. “Since I will be retiring at the end of this year, I look forward to sharing some of my reflections on serving 25 years in public service.”

He said he also would share what is in store for 2019 in Gahanna.

The presentation will begin at 7 p.m. with WBNS-10TV anchor and Gahanna Lincoln High School alumna, Yolanda Harris, who will interview Kneeland.

Leslee Blake, president of the chamber of commerce, said the chamber is delighted to partner with the city by taking a more active role in the community.

Bill Montgomery, with 104.9 The River, and chairman of the chamber’s board of directors, will serve as emcee.

“There’s no charge to attend and we encourage all businesses to join us to support continued growth and development of a community we call home,” Blake said.

The chamber will host a reception following the presentation, with a food tasting from 8 to 9 p.m.

Guests can try samples from 2018 Taste of Gahanna award-winners 101 Beer Kitchen, Upper Cup Coffee, Barrel & Boar, Cap City Fine Diner & Bar, La Navona, Nothing Bundt Cakes and Mi Tradicion.

“These restaurants are helping us kick-start promotion for the 2019 Taste of Gahanna, which will take place on Aug. 29 at Creekside,” Blake said.
