An alleged shoplifter threw more than $143 worth of cosmetics and other items on the ground during an altercation at a drugstore in the 6300 block of East Main Street.

According to Reyoldsburg police reports, officers responded to a shoplifting complaint at 1:56 p.m. Feb. 19 and were told that a female suspect had fled the store on foot, walking west on East Main Street. Store management told police the woman loaded merchandise in a pushcart she brought with her and tried to leave without paying.

A verbal altercation between staff members and the woman ensued, with the woman tossing some of the items onto the floor inside the store before leaving.

In other recent Reynoldsburg police reports:

* A 31-year-old Blacklick woman was issued a mayor's court summons shortly before 1 p.m. Feb. 15 after officers responded to a theft report at a clothing store in the 8100 block of East Broad Street.

* Two Columbus women were arrested Feb. 15 at a department store in the 2400 block of Taylor Park Drive. Officers responded to a report of shoplifting shortly before 5 p.m. and both women were charged with petty theft.

* Officers responding to a suspicious-person report at a department store in the 2700 block of Taylor Road Southwest shortly after midnight Feb. 16 arrested a 45-year-old Reynoldsburg man on petty theft charges.

* Police arrested a 20-year-old woman on assault charges after responding to a call at 4:02 p.m. Feb. 20 in the 2100 block of Commons Road South.
