Following are Columbus and Franklin County Metropolitan Park District programs for March 7-14.
Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park
1775 Darby Creek Drive, Galloway
Yoga in the Park, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. March 9 at Cedar Ridge Lodge. Guests can learn movements in an outdoor setting to help rejuvenate mind and body.
Photo Group: Enrich Your Photos Using Color Theory, 10 to 11 a.m. March 9 at the Nature Center. Guests can learn traditional color theory to improve photo composition and digital color theory to improve the look on hi-res displays and photo prints.
Vernal Pool Celebration, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 9 at the Nature Center. Guests can celebrate some of the strangest and important wetlands and the creatures that live there. Displays from local organizations and live animals will be featured. Attendees can take a hike with a naturalist to see an active vernal pool and discover what is caught in traps.
Metro Five-0: Level 2 Bison, 1 to 2 p.m. March 10 at the Nature Center. Guests ages 50 and older can join for a 1-mile hike while learning about this 2,000-pound animal.
Preschoolers: Water Babies, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. to noon March 12 at the Nature Center. Children ages 3-5 can learn about amphibians and animals that spend their days as babies in the water.
Blacklick Woods Metro Park
6975 E. Livingston Ave., Reynoldsburg
Woodcock Walk, 7 to 8 p.m. March 8 at the Nature Center. Guests can search for the male woodcock as he performs his aerial courtship display.
Pond Life Display, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. March 9 and 10 at the Nature Center. Visitors can learn about the creatures of Ohio pond ecosystems and the various roles they play.
Salamander Search, 2 to 3 p.m. March 10 at the Nature Center. Guests can explore the trails while looking for this amphibian.
Preschoolers: Pond Life, 10 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 2 p.m. March 13 at the Nature Center. Children ages 3-5 can learn about the life inside a pond through stories, activities and crafts.
Blendon Woods Metro Park
4265 E. Dublin Granville Road, Westerville
2/4/6 Fitness Hike, 9 to 11 a.m. March 9 at the Nature Center. Visitors ages 14 and older can take a fast-paced hike along gravel and natural surface trails. The pace will be under 20 minutes per mile. Hikes of 2, 4 or 6 miles can be chosen.
Orphaned/Injured Wildlife Display, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 9 at the Nature Center. Guests can discover when animals need human help and when to leave them alone.
Ohio Wildlife Center: "I Found a Baby.... Now What?", 2 to 3 p.m. March 9 at the Nature Center. Guests can learn what to do when wildlife is found that might need help. Live animals will be visiting for the presentation.
Highbanks Metro Park

For Adults: Salamander Hike, 10 a.m. to noon March 8 at the Nature Center. Guests ages 18 and older can hike three miles to the vernal pool to learn more about the secretive lives of salamanders.
Eagle Walk, 2 to 4 p.m. March 10 at the Nature Center. Guests ages 8 and older can hike three miles and look for bald eagles in their nest.
Preschoolers: Salamanders, 11 a.m. to noon and 1 to 2 p.m. March 13; and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. March 14 at the Nature Center. Children ages 3-5 can learn about the secretive lives of these amphibians through crafts, stories and other activities.
Homestead

Story Time, 10 to 10:45 a.m., 11 to 11:45 a.m. and 1 to 1:45 p.m. March 7 at the Nature Center. Guests can listen to stories and meet an animal featured in the tale.
Inniswood Metro Gardens
940 S. Hempstead Road, Westerville
Growing Dahlias, 2 to 4 p.m. March 10 at the Innis House. Guests can learn how to start and maintain dahlia tubers with members of the Greater Columbus Dahlia Society.
Rocky Fork Metro Park
7180 Walnut St., Westerville
Vernal Pool Exploration, 2 to 4 p.m. March 10 at the Bulletin Board. Guests can explore the swampy fields and forest to search for frogs and salamanders at the height of their breeding season.
Scioto Audubon Metro Park
400 W. Whittier St., Columbus
Preschool Storytime, 10 a.m. Thursdays and Saturdays at the Grange Insurance Audubon. Guests can bring little ones for a nature-inspired story or two.
Weekly Bird Hike, 10 a.m. Saturdays at the Grange Insurance Audubon Center. Guests can search for birds in the park.
Preschool Story Time, 10 to 11 a.m. March 7 at the Grange Insurance Audubon Center. Children ages 3-5 can listen to a nature-inspired story or two.
Sharon Woods Metro Park
6911 Cleveland Ave., Westerville
Meet the Critters, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 9 at the Naturalist Office. Guests can meet turtles, toads, frogs, salamanders and snakes.
Homeschoolers: Journal Making, 10 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 2 p.m. March 12 at the Spring Hollow Lodge. Children ages 6-12 can create a journal and venture outside to fill a few pages.
Three Creeks Park
3860 Bixby Road, Groveport
Timberdoodle Time, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. March 9 at the Confluence Area. Guests can take a 1.5-mile walk to watch the aerial courtship display of the American woodcock.
