Winners will be recognized at the elementary, middle and high school levels.
Voting is open for the 2019 Teachers of the Year awards from ThisWeek Community News and Columbus Parent.
The program, in its sixth year, will recognize three deserving educators: one each at the elementary, middle and high school levels. From Jan. 2 to 30, readers submitted online nominations for Central Ohio teachers who make a difference. Our editorial staffs reviewed them all, did some independent research and narrowed the list to 15 finalists (five per category).
Now it’s your turn to decide who should win.
Readers may vote for one teacher in each category. Voting ends March 27. Cast your ballot at ThisWeekNEWS.com/teachers.
Winners will be recognized with award ceremonies at their buildings before the school year ends. They also will be featured in ThisWeek's publications and in the June issue of Columbus Parent.
Read the profiles of last year’s winners: Rita Crego, a first-grade teacher at Reynoldsburg City Schools' Taylor Road Elementary School; Rob Niedermeyer, a teacher at Reynoldsburg's STEM Middle at Baldwin Road Junior High School; and Michael Kunselman, a teacher at Gahanna Lincoln High School.
