The Dublin school board is slated to vote Monday, March 11, on a two-year contract for Michael Aurin, who was selected to become the new Jerome High School principal.

Jerome principal Dustin Miller is leaving the district to become a professor in educational administration at Ohio State University and direct its doctoral program.

Aurin has a recommended salary of $121,944 and a benefits package valued about $36,583, for a total compensation of $158,527.

Aurin has served as principal at Jonathan Alder High School since 2015. Before that, he was assistant principal at Jerome for three years.

Aurin said he decided to go to Jonathan Alder because he knew he needed career experience as principal. The job, he said, was the right opportunity at the right time.

“It’s been a great opportunity for me to learn how to be a leader and to learn how to be a better educator,” he said.

The meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. in the district's 1919 Building, which is connected to John Sells Middle School, 150 W. Bridge St., in Dublin.
