Marble Cliff Village Council will hold a first reading at its Monday, March 11, meeting of an ordinance to approve a concept plan, preliminary development plan and rezoning for the residential development proposed for 2015 W. Fifth Ave.
The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at Village Hall, 1600 Fernwood Ave.
F2 Cos. is proposing no more than 40 residential units at the site.
The developer has indicated the number of units may be reduced to as few as 37 depending on what potential buyers want, Fiscal Officer Cindy McKay said.
A pair of one-bedroom apartments may be combined into a single two-room unit, she said.
The developer has agreed to preserve the Frank Packard-designed mansion on the property.
Four to six apartments would be housed in the existing mansion. The project also would include two 3-story townhouse buildings facing Fifth Avenue and a 3-story apartment building that would be constructed behind the existing house.
Council is holding its meeting one week earlier than usual.
A second reading of the legislation and a public hearing would be held at council's next meeting April 15, but council may consider holding the public hearing as a special meeting, McKay said.
