Police responded to a call shortly after 9:30 a.m. Feb. 28 about a man who appeared to be intoxicated and was refusing to get off a COTA bus in the 1400 block of Hanson Street near the intersection with East Main Street.

The bus driver told police the man had previously been banned from riding COTA buses. The 56-year-old Columbus man was escorted off the bus by police, who later determined he had a blood alcohol level of 0.427.

He was transported to Grant Medical Center for treatment.

* A 43-year-old Reynoldsburg man was arrested shortly before 1 a.m. March 1 at a nightclub in the 1300 block of Brice Road on charges of criminal trespassing and disorderly conduct.

* A Columbus couple was arrested Feb. 23 on charges of petty theft after police received a call from a department store in the 2700 block of Taylor Road Southwest.

The store's loss-prevention team reported observing a 29-year-old man and a 30-year-old female trying to conceal items at the self-checkout around 4:20 p.m.

* A 56-year-old Columbus man was arrested on charges of criminal trespassing and disorderly conduct Feb. 22 at a restaurant in the 1700 block of Brice Road after police responded to a report of a suspicious person around 10:10 p.m.
