Cleanup is underway after a car crashed into Jimmy V’s Grill & Pub, 1 S. State St. in Westerville at 1:40 p.m. March 12, damaging the building.

The car crashed into the business but no one sustained injuries, according to Christa Dickey, the city’s community-affairs director. She said the car appeared to have run a red light.

As of 3 p.m., the car was being towed out of the area, she said, and police, fire and service crews were cleaning up the site. It will have to be boarded up, she said.

“We all feel a little shook up, but we are thankful that no one was injured,” said Jessica Nedelkoski, general manager.

She said no one was hurt inside the building and workers were thankful the driver was OK.

She said the restaurant will continue to be open and they are in the process of cleaning up.

Nedelkoski said the outpouring of support from the community had been great and numerous people had stopped inside and called to make sure everyone was OK.

“We love our community,” she said.
