A South Linden teenager has been charged in connection with the fatal shooting and robbery of a Powell man who responded to a social media ad to buy a PlayStation 4 earlier this month, Columbus police homicide detectives announced Tuesday evening, March 26.

Kyvion Rodney Allen Jacobs, 17, who resides on East 20th Avenue in South Linden, is facing delinquency charges of aggravated murder and aggravated robbery in the death of Kyle Haseley, 25, of Powell.

Haseley was shot in the head just before 9:38 p.m. March 6 in front of a residence on the 1100 block of East 21st Avenue, police said. Haseley’s girlfriend, a Lewis Center woman who called 911, said he had agreed to meet someone there to buy a PlayStation 4. The gunman shot Haseley, then took money the victim had brought with him to complete the transaction, police said.
