A kindergarten teacher for Groveport Madison Schools remains on administrative leave after an allegation that she was “excessively harsh” in correcting a student.
According to a district news release, the principal at one of the elementary schools received a complaint March 22 about the 28-year-old Asbury Elementary School teacher, who has been with the district since 2014, according to district records.
“Upon being made aware of the allegations, the child’s parents were contacted and the allegation was reported to Franklin County Children Services,” the release said. The teacher “has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation.”
The district also promised its “full support to all investigating agencies” and said if the allegations are substantiated, “we will take swift and appropriate disciplinary action, up to and including termination.”
ThisWeek is not naming the teacher because no charges have been filed.
