A ban on the use of nicotine in all the city parks is on the agenda for Upper Arlington City Council’s April 1 conference session.

The meeting will start at 7:30 p.m. at the Upper Arlington Municipal Services Center, 3600 Tremont Road.

No action is expected at the meeting, but council President Kip Greenhill said legislation could be up for passage as soon as April 8.

As proposed, the ban would extend to any public park or playground and would include cigarettes, pipes, cigars, electronic cigarettes and vaping devices.

The draft legislation to come before council would not include wood-fired ovens, smokers, grills, fireplaces, wood-burning stoves or candles.
