An 89-year-old Worthington resident was robbed of $1,100 over the phone at 12:59 p.m. March 19, according to the Worthington Division of Police.

The resident told police a person called about a computer problem and directed the resident to purchase gift cards to cover the cost.

Sgt. Jim Moran said similar incidents have been occurring frequently.

In other recent Worthington police incident reports:

* A resident reported a recently purchased handgun was stolen from a vehicle at 9:30 p.m. March 23 on the 400 block of Pittsfield Drive. Moran said the incident is under investigation.

* A resident reported her vehicle being vandalized while she was at work at 5:30 p.m. March 18 in the 6000 block of North High Street. The resident told police she observed a male suspiciously taking photographs of her car and covering her bumper stickers, Moran said.
