Gahanna-Jefferson Public Schools has announced treasurer Kristine Blind is leaving the district effective Aug. 1 to accept a position with the London City Schools.
Blind previously worked as treasurer of London City Schools from 2011 to 2017 prior to joining Gahanna-Jefferson.
"We appreciate the work Kristine has done for our district and community the past two school years and we wish her well in her new position," said a press release issued by the district on behalf of the board of education.
The board is developing plans to search for a replacement, according to Judy Hengstebeck, the district's communications coordinator.
Blind was given a three-year contract by Gahanna-Jefferson effective Oct. 10, 2017, through July 31, 2020, at an annual salary of $135,000 plus benefits.
Superintendent Steve Barrett said Blind had the experience and expertise Gahanna needed.
Julio Valladares, who served the district as treasurer for 14 years, resigned in June 2017 to become treasurer of Newark City Schools.
