Following are Columbus and Franklin County Metropolitan Park District programs for Aug. 15-22.

Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park

1775 Darby Creek Drive, Galloway

Full Moon Hike, 8:30 p.m. Aug. 15 at the Ranger Station. Guests can take a 4-mile hike through fields and forest.

Disneynature: "African Cats," 7 p.m. Aug. 16 at the Nature Center. Guests can watch Disneynature's "African Cats."

Family Creeking Adventure, 1 p.m. Aug. 17 at the Ranger Station. Guests can catch fish, bugs and crawdads in Big Darby Creek.

Feed the Stream, 1 p.m. Aug. 18 at the Nature Center. Guests can feed worms, crickets and minnows to fish in the creek.

Wildlife Hike, 10 a.m. Aug. 21 at the Little Darby Picnic Area. Visitors can search for wildlife with a naturalist on a 2-mile hike along the Dyer Mill Trail.

Blacklick Woods Metro Park

6975 E. Livingston Ave., Reynoldsburg

Ranger Bike Ride, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 17 at the Nature Center. Guests can join a park ranger on a 6-mile bike ride along the Blacklick Creek Greenway Trail.

Caterpillar Crawl, 9 p.m. Aug. 17 at the Nature Center. Guests can take a half-mile walk to search trees and shrubs for caterpillars.

Summer Crafts, noon to 4 p.m. Aug. 18 at the Nature Center. Visitors ages 4-14 can make duck-themed crafts.

Nature Kids: Seed Dispersal, 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Aug. 19 at the Nature Center. Children ages 6-12 can learn how seeds move and how forests and prairies begin.

Blendon Woods Metro Park

4265 E. Dublin Granville Road, Westerville

Night Sounds, 8:30 p.m. Aug. 17 at the Nature Center. Guests can listen for animals singing after dark.

Family Creeking, 2 p.m. Aug. 18 at the Nature Center. Guests can look for salamanders and other creatures that live in the stream.

Relaxing Yoga, 6:30 p.m. Aug. 19 at the Picnic Area Lot at the Ranger Station. Guests can participate in an hour of outdoor yoga. Attendees are encouraged to bring a mat or towel.

Preschool: B is for Butterfly, 9:30 or 11 a.m. or 1 p.m. Aug. 21 at the Nature Center. Preschoolers can enjoy the butterflies that live in the park.

Glacier Ridge Metro Park

9801 Hyland Croy Road, Plain City

Morning Tram Ride, 8:30 a.m. Aug. 17 at the Shelter House. Guests can take a ride through the forest and grassland. Coffee and a small breakfast will be provided.

Walk and Woof, 7 p.m. Aug. 22 at the Glacier Ridge Dog Park. Guests ages 6 and older can take a 2.5-mile hike with their dog.

Highbanks Metro Park

9466 U.S. Route 23 N., Lewis Center

Howl at the Moon, 8:30 p.m. Aug. 15 at the Nature Center. Guests can take a 3.5-mile hike with their dog. Attendees are encouraged to bring a flashlight.

Creature Feature: Friday Feeding, 11 a.m. Aug. 16 at the Nature Center. Guests can visit the animals and learn how different animals find food.

Sunset Hike, 8:30 p.m. Aug. 16 at the Nature Center. Guests ages 6 and older can take a 1-mile hike to look for animals.

Evening Fishing and Campfire with Rangers, 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 17 at Dragonfly Day Camp. Visitors ages 5 and older can fish in the pond then roast s'mores over a campfire. Bait, poles and roasting sticks will be available.

For Kids: Monarchs, 2 p.m. Aug. 18 at the Nature Center. Children ages 6-12 can learn about the monarch butterfly and look for caterpillars in the meadows.

Storytime: Hungry Caterpillar, 10 a.m. Aug. 19 at the Nature Center. Children ages 2-6 can listen to stories about caterpillars and butterflies.

For Kids: Tram Rides, 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Aug. 22 at the Nature Center. Children ages 2-10 can learn about animals while taking a ride around the park.

Homestead

4675 Cosgray Road, Hilliard

Singing Along with Joanie, 10 a.m. Aug. 18 at the Nature Center. Children ages 5 and younger can participate in an interactive performance by Joanie Calem.

Inniswood Metro Gardens

940 S. Hempstead Road, Westerville

Metro Five-0 Level 2: Summer Tree ID, 2 p.m. Aug. 17 at the Gardens Entrance. Guests ages 50 and older can take a walk with an educator to identify common trees.

Music in the Gardens: High Street Stompers, 3 to 5 p.m. Aug. 18 at the Education Pavilion. Guests can watch a performance by this New Orleans-style Dixieland jazz band.

Introductory Tai Chi, 1 p.m. Aug. 19 at the Education Pavilion. Guests can attend an introductory tai chi lesson from Taoist tai chi instructor Midge Krause.

Rocky Fork Metro Park

7180 Walnut St., Westerville

Metro Five-0 Level 2: Wildflower Wander, 9 a.m. Aug. 22 at the Millstone Shelter. Guests ages 50 and older can take a 1.5-mile walk along the field trail to look for late summer blooms.

Scioto Audubon Metro Park

400 W. Whittier St., Columbus

Preschool Storytime, 10 a.m. Thursdays and Saturdays at the Grange Insurance Audubon. Guests can bring little ones for a nature-inspired story or two.

Weekly Bird Hike, 10 a.m. Saturdays at the Grange Insurance Audubon Center. Guests can search for birds in the park.

Sharon Woods Metro Park

6911 Cleveland Ave., Westerville

Mud and Madness, 10 a.m. to noon Aug. 17 at the Apple Ridge Bulletin Board. Families can navigate muddy obstacles on a 1.5-mile adventure. No strollers or pets. Attendees are encouraged to bring towels.

Happy Tails-N-Trails, 10 a.m. Aug. 18 at the Apple Ridge Bulletin Board. Guests can bring their dog for a 2-mile hike and a dog treat.

Slate Run Living Historical Farm

1375 state Route 674 N., Canal Winchester

Pastimes, Puzzles and Play, 1 to 3 p.m. Aug. 16-18 at the Farmhouse. Guests can try Victorian-era games, riddles and activities.

Three Creeks Park

3860 Bixby Road, Groveport

Family Fun Walk, 7 p.m. Aug. 17 at the Confluence Area. Guests can explore nature on a 1-mile walk.

Preschoolers: Creepy Crawlies, 10 a.m. Aug. 20 at the Confluence Area. Preschoolers can catch and learn about insects and spiders.

Homeschoolers: Exploring Insects, 1 p.m. Aug. 20 at the Confluence Area. Students ages 6-17 can catch, identify and release insects while learning about their role in the environment.
