Prairie Township trustees last month accepted the resignation of recreation director James Gant and appointed Michael Pollack as his interim replacement.

Gant's resignation was effective Aug. 2. He was hired for the job of Hilliard's deputy director of recreation and parks and started work Aug. 5.

Prairie trustees July 31 voted unanimously to appoint Pollack as interim recreation director and to increase his pay to $79,000 annually.

The pay range for the recreation director is $78,000 to $93,000, township administrator Rob Peters said.

Pollack has served as facility supervisor at the township's community center, 5955 W. Broad St. Pollack will continue to oversee those duties while interim director, Peters said.

Gant had worked for the township since 2014 and was among the staffers to open the community center in 2015. Prior to his job with the township, Gant worked for the cities of Upper Arlington and Columbus.
