Sensenbrenner Park, 300 N. High St., was dedicated Oct. 13, 1980. The park was named in in honor of M.E. “Jack” Sensenbrenner, the former Columbus mayor from 1954 to 1959 and from 1964 to 1971. Sensenbrenner attended the ceremony and was asked what he thought of the future of Columbus. He replied, “It has one of the greatest futures of any city in the country.” At the ceremony are Columbus Mayor Tom Moody (left), Columbus City Council member John Rosemond, Sensenbrenner and Gov. James Rhodes.
