The city of Groveport will celebrate its pioneer heritage with its 46th annual Apple Butter Day on Saturday, Oct. 12.

Kettles of homemade apple butter will be bubbling over wood fires at Heritage Park, 551 Wirt Road, for the all-day festival that also features homemade crafts, food vendors, pioneer demonstrations, petting zoo, pony rides and entertainment.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Entertainment includes Mad River Tradition, Madison Christian Band, Delightful Sounds, Bo Richardson and The Hamiltons, a Bluegrass band.

The Groveport Transportation Department will provide free shuttle service to and from the festival.

The shuttle leaves Groveport Park, 7370 Groveport Road every half hour beginning at 9 a.m. and ending at 5 p.m. The shuttle also leaves Wirt Road and Cherry Street every half hour beginning at 9:15 a.m. and ending at 5:15 p.m.
