Following are Columbus and Franklin County Metropolitan Park District programs for Oct. 17-24.

Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park

1775 Darby Creek Drive, Galloway

Fall Fest: Trunk or Treat and Pumpkin Hike, 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 18 at the Ranger Station. Guests can take a 1-mile hike on a jack-o-lantern-lit trail and collect treats.

Feed the Stream, 1 to 1:30 p.m. Oct. 19 at the Nature Center. Guests can feed worms and crickets to the fish in the stream.

Bison Bison, 5 to 6 p.m. Oct. 20 at the Nature Center. Visitors can take a 1-mile hike and learn about bison.

Blacklick Woods Metro Park

6975 E. Livingston Ave., Reynoldsburg

Tots on Trails, 10 to 11 a.m. Oct. 18 at the Nature Center. Children ages 4 and younger and their caregivers can take a half-mile walk.

Metro Five-0 Level 3: Fall Foliage Walk, 2 to 3 p.m. Oct. 19 at the Nature Center. Guests ages 50 and older can take a 2-mile walk.

Web Maze, 3 to 4 p.m. Oct. 20 at the Ash Grove Picnic Area. Guests can walk through a maze and learn about spiders.

Nature Babies, 10 to 11 a.m. Oct. 21 at the Nature Center. Babies ages 2 and younger can listen to stories and learn some American Sign Language.

Blendon Woods Metro Park

4265 E. Dublin Granville Road, Westerville

Fungi Frenzy, 2 to 3 p.m. Oct. 20 at Blendon Ravines, 5280 Cambria Way. Guests can search for common mushrooms.

Preschool: Fall Tram, 9:30, 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. Oct. 23 and 24 at the Nature Center. Children ages 3-5 can take a tram tour of the park

Glacier Ridge Metro Park

9801 Hyland Croy Road, Plain City

Fall Stargazing, 8 to 9:30 p.m. Oct. 18 at the windmill at Glacier Ridge Energy Center. Guests can see planets and constellations using telescopes and binoculars.

Walk and Woof, 6 to 7 p.m. Oct. 23 at the Glacier Ridge Dog Park. Guests can take a 2.5-mile hike with their dog.

Highbanks Metro Park

9466 U.S. Route 23 N., Lewis Center

Halloween Family Fun Night, 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 18 at the Nature Center. Children ages 3 and older can wear costumes, play games and eat s'mores.

Off-Trail Ravine Hike, 2 to 4 p.m. Oct. 19 at the Nature Center. Guests ages 8 and older can take a 4-mile off-trail hike.

For Kids: Make Wizard Wands, 2 to 3 p.m. Oct. 20 at the Nature Center. Children ages 5-12 can make a wand to take home.

Preschool: Silly Spiders, 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.. Oct. 23 and 9:30 and 11 a.m. Oct. 24 at the Nature Center. Children ages 3-5 can learn about spiders through stories, crafts and a hike

Homestead

4675 Cosgray Road, Hilliard

Sunday Stories, 3 to 4 p.m. Oct. 20 at the Nature Center. Children ages 6 and younger can listen to stories about animals that live in Ohio.

Inniswood Metro Gardens

940 S. Hempstead Road, Westerville

Scarecrows and Wildlife Woes, 2 to 3 p.m. Oct. 19 at the Greenhouse Multipurpose Center. Guests can make a decorative scarecrow and learn how to keep unwanted animals away from plants.

Incredible Journey, 1 to 3 p.m. Oct. 20 at the Sisters Garden. Guests can learn about the water cycle.

Sunny Sundays, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 20 at the Herb Garden. Guests can talk with members of the Herb Society of America.

Evening Garden Walk, 5 to 6 p.m. Oct. 20 at the Gardens Entrance. Visitors can take a guided stroll through the gardens.

Rocky Fork Metro Park

7180 Walnut St., Westerville

Barktoberfest, 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 24 at the Rocky Fork Dog Park. Guests can have beer and food and participate in a dog costume contest.

Scioto Audubon Metro Park

400 W. Whittier St.,

Columbus

Preschool Storytime, 10 a.m. Thursdays and Saturdays at the Grange Insurance Audubon. Guests can bring little ones for a nature-inspired story or two.

Weekly Bird Hike, 10 a.m. Saturdays at the Grange Insurance Audubon Center. Guests can search for birds in the park.

Sharon Woods Metro Park

Westerville

Autumn Lantern Stroll, 7 to 8 p.m. Oct. 19 at the Apple Ridge Picnic Shelter. Guests can join local singer and guitarist Joanie Calem for a singalong around the campfire and roast marshmallows.

Slate Run Living Historical Farm

1375 state Route 674 N., Canal Winchester

Apples: Their History and Uses, 1 to 3 p.m. Oct. 20 at the Farmhouse. Guests can sample varieties of apples, press cider and cook apple butter.

Homeschoolers: Pumpkin Science, 1 to 2 p.m. Oct. 23 at the Farmhouse. Children ages 5-17 can learn about pumpkins through math and science.

Slate Run Metro Park

1375 state Route 674 N., Canal Winchester

Family Harvest, 2 to 5 p.m. Oct. 19 at the Buzzards Roost Picnic Area. Guests can take a hayride and have apple cider.

Three Creeks Park

3860 Bixby Road, Groveport

No School Today: Nature Hike, 10 to 11 a.m. Oct. 18 at the Confluence Area. Guests can take a 1.5-mile hike.

Halloween Family Fun Night, 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 19 at the Confluence Area. Guests can wear costumes and have s'mores.

Fall Photo Walk, 2 to 3 p.m. Oct. 20 at the Confluence Area. Guests can take photos with a camera or phone.

Homeschoolers: In The Fall Forest, 10 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 2 p.m. Oct. 22 at the Confluence Area. Children ages 6-15 can walk through the forest.
