Which pizzeria serves up Clintonville's best pie is a frequent bone of contention among local folks, but now shops can put their pizza where residents' mouths are.
The 2019 Slice of Clintonville will showcase local pizza shops from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, at the Clintonville Woman's Club, 3951 N. High St.
Participating pizza shops will include Donatos, East Coast Pizza, Lucky's Market, Mikey's Late Night Slice, Sbarro and the Pizza House.
"Everyone in Clintonville loves pizza," Clintonville-Beechwold Community Resources Center development director Katie Palmer said.
The Pizza House will look to defend last year's People's Choice and Celebrity Judge awards.
Those who attend may sample pizza from the shops, then help select the winner of the People's Choice award.
Beer will be available. The club will provide nonalcoholic drinks and salads. Ritzy's will provide ice cream.
This is the sixth year for the family-friendly event, said Jenny Smith, president of the Clintonville Area Chamber of Commerce, which sponsors the event.
"It's a fundraiser but also a way for our businesses and organizations to give a little back," Smith said.
Proceeds will benefit the resources center, as well as the chamber.
"It also is a great way for us to do community outreach and engagement, to get the word out about what we're doing," Palmer said.
Cost is $15 for adults and children ages 13 and older, $5 for ages 6-12, free for ages 5 and younger.
For tickets, go to clintonvillecrc.org or stop by the chamber office at 11 W. Cooke Road. Tickets also will be available at the door.
