Westerville police said an 18-year-old Columbus resident and 19-year-old Columbus resident were arrested after stealing $140 worth of merchandise at 2:30 p.m. Nov. 8 from a store on the 100 block of Huber Village Boulevard.

The two used aluminum foil to cover sensors on the merchandise, according to reports.

They were both arrested and transported to the Westerville Division of Police for booking.

Both were released and issued a summons for the Franklin County Municipal Court.

* A Westerville resident reported a cat was found with a broken pelvis on the 1000 block of Hempstead Road.

* A Westerville resident reported a vehicle was broken into on Nov. 7 on the 100 block of Mariemont Drive.

She said nothing was taken but said several other cars have been broken into nearby, according to police reports.
