Now that we are a month into 2020 it is important for us as a business community to remain focused on the goals we have set in the new year.
Whether they are personal or professional goals, it is vital to remain focused on resiliency to overcome the challenges the year may bring.
On Jan. 27, the Westerville Area Chamber of Commerce hosted its Annual Lunch and Awards Program, which featured a morning Business Seminar. The theme for both was "2020 Vision: Building relationships through Resiliency and Emotional Intelligence," which focused on our need at work and at home to become more self-aware of our own strengths and weaknesses, but also how to use our emotional intelligence to motivate and inspire those around us.
Sixty business professionals joined us for the morning portion, which was facilitated by Charlotte Click, manager of leader effectiveness and program manager for the LEAD program for high potential managers at Cardinal Health.
Later in the morning, nearly another hundred attendees joined us to celebrate the accomplishments of the Westerville chamber and our business community in 2019, which featured Smart Cosmos in our Innovation Showcase, an international leader in making all things go digital, and our 2019 annual chamber award recipients:
* Business Person of the Year: Megan Ada, Asterisk Supper Club
* Young Professional of the Year: Alli Redinger, Robin Enterprises
* Large Business of the Year: The Champion Companies
* Small Business of the Year: MAD Scientists Associates.
The chamber is focused this year on advocating for the business climate of the greater Westerville area. Through our development and networking opportunities, we hope we can help you and your business become more resilient in the months ahead.
Join us as we continue to focus on our workforce initiatives and helping connect area businesses with every opportunity to make this the most successful year yet.
