Whitehall police responded at 8:45 a.m. Feb. 20 to a report of a student on a Whitehall City Schools bus who allegedly had a gun and "wanted to shoot another student."

When police contacted the bus driver, they learned the student, a 9-year-old girl, was at the office at Etna Road Elementary School, 4531 Etna Road.

Police searched the girl's backpack but did not find a gun, reports said.

The girl reportedly told police another student had been "messing" with her, which is why she made the statement about a gun.

No criminal charges were filed in the incident due to the girl's age, according to reports.
