Battelle-Darby Creek Metro Park

1775 Darby Creek Drive, Galloway

Preschoolers: Woodpeckers in Winter, 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Feb. 28 at the Nature Center. Children ages 3-5 can learn about woodpeckers.

Bon Appecreek, 1 p.m. Feb. 29 at the Nature Center. Guests can feed worms and crickets to the fish in the creek.

Trivia Night, 6 to 8 p.m. Feb. 29 at the Nature Center. Guests can participate in nature-themed trivia competitions.

Composting, 3 p.m. March 1 at the Nature Center. Guests can learn the basics of composting.

Blacklick Woods Metro Park

6975 E. Livingston Ave., Reynoldsburg

Tots on Trails, 10 a.m. Feb. 28 at the Nature Center. Children ages 5 and younger can take a half-mile walk through the woods.

Backpacking Prep, 10 a.m. March 1 at the Nature Center. Guests can take a 4-mile hike and learn how to prepare for a backpacking trip.

Story Time, 10 a.m. March 2 at the Nature Center. Guests can watch animals through the center's windows and have coffee.

Blendon Woods Metro Park

4265 state Route 161 E., Westerville

Maple Sugar Time, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 29 at Sugarbush Day Camp. Guests can view a maple syrup-making demonstration.

Toddlers in Nature: Spirals, 9:30 and 11 a.m. March 5 at the Nature Center. Children ages 3 and younger can learn about spirals in nature through various activities including stories and a walk.

Glacier Ridge Metro Park

9801 Hyland Croy Road, Plain City

Walk and Woof, 3 to 4 p.m. Feb. 29 at the Glacier Ridge Dog Park. Visitors can take a 2.5-mile hike with their dog.

Highbanks Metro Park

9466 U.S. 23 N., Lewis Center

Leap Day Date Night: Gourmet S'mores and Night Hike, 6:30 to 8 p.m. Feb. 29 at the Northern Shelter. Guests ages 18 and older can make s'mores and take a night hike.

Inniswood Metro Gardens

940 Hempstead Road, Westerville

Preschool in the Gardens: Rabbits, 9:30 a.m., 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. March 4 at the Greenhouse Multipurpose Center. Children can listen to stories and learn about rabbits.

Scioto Audubon Metro Park

400 W. Whittier St., Columbus

Preschool Storytime, 10 to 11 a.m. Feb. 27 and 29 and March 5 at Grange Insurance Audubon. Children ages 3-5 can listen to stories about nature.

Weekly Bird Hike, 10 to 11:30 a.m. Feb. 29 at Grange Insurance Audubon. Guests can look for birds in the park.

Sharon Woods Metro Park

6911 Cleveland Ave., Westerville

Preschoolers: Crazy Canines, 9:30 a.m., 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Feb. 27 at Spring Hollow. Children ages 3-5 can learn about dogs through activities and crafts.

Leapin' Lantern Stroll, 6:45 p.m. Feb. 29 at the Apple Ridge Bulletin Board. Guests can carry lanterns on a 1-mile walk.

Go Wild Kids Club: Frogs, Toads and Salamanders, 2 p.m. March 1 at Spring Hollow. Children ages 5-12 can meet live amphibians.

Slate Run Living Historical Farm

1375 state Route 674 N., Canal Winchester

Maple Time, 1 to 3 p.m. Feb. 29 and March 1 at the Farmhouse. Guests can learn how maple syrup was made in the 1880s.

Three Creeks Park

3860 Bixby Road, Groveport

Woodcock Watch, 6 to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 29 at the Confluence Area. Guests can take a 1.5-mile walk to watch the woodcocks' courtship displays.
