Actors’ Theatre of Columbus has delayed its 2020 season opening to June 18 because of the COVID-19 coronavirus but still intends to perform all four plays this season, according to the group’s website.

The German Village-based company, which performs its summer production schedule in the Schiller Park amphitheater in German Village, is planning to open with “King Lear” on June 18, the website said.

All plays will be performed Thursday through Sunday for three weeks instead of four so Actors’ Theatre can fit in the entire season of “Royals,” the information said.

“The Great Gatsby” is scheduled to open July 9, “Queen Margaret” on July 30 and the season will close with “The Way of the World,” opening Aug. 20 and ending Sept. 6.

All shows are free and open to the public.

“While it is painful to shorten our season, we believe the decision is the right step to take at this time,” a statement on the website said.
