An early morning fire April 9 damaged Blu-Willy's Restaurant, 3985 Broadway in Grove City.

The fire is under investigation and a damage estimate is being assessed, Jackson Township Deputy Fire Chief Shawn Quincel said.

"There's a lot of fire and smoke damage. They aren't going to be able to reopen for a while," he said.

Jackson Township firefighters responded at 4 a.m. to the building and received mutual aid from other fire departments, including Columbus and those of Pleasant and Prairie townships, Quincel said.

The fire was contained in about 30 minutes, he said.

"The restaurant was closed, so there was no one there when the fire occurred and no firefighters were injured," Quincel said.

Most of the damage occurred at the rear of the structure, he said.
