An Upper Arlington man recently reported being duped out of thousands of dollars by a contractor.
According to a police report, a man in the 3000 block of Asbury Drive told police he gave a Hilliard-based contractor $10,000 to do work that was never completed. No date or time was provided for the incident, but it was entered into the UAPD log April 7. The report did not state what type of services the man had contracted to receive.
In other recent Upper Arlington police reports:
* A woman in the 2800 block of River Park Drive reported someone stole a personal check written in the amount of $440 from her mailbox and cashed it in the amount of $4,000 between March 2 and April 1.
* A jewelry store in the 3100 block of Tremont Road reported an unknown person forged checks in the amount of $2,040. No other information was provided, but the alleged incident was entered into the UAPD log April 7.
* A man in the 2000 block of Mackenzie Drive reported between 8:47 a.m. March 26 and noon March 27 someone used his credit-card information to transfer $3,500 out of his bank account.
* A man in the 1700 block of Hartwich Road reported someone removed two exterior power mirrors, valued together at $600, from his vehicle between Feb. 29 and March 30.
