Ohio’s largest school district will host an exclusively virtual graduation ceremony for the Class of 2020.

Columbus City Schools Superintendent Talisa Dixon, who announced the decision Tuesday night, said it was “one of the toughest decisions I’ve had to make in my career,” but she believes it is the right one.

The online ceremonies will be streamed live June 22-27 for the district’s 19 traditional high schools, with “completer ceremonies” for its two career centers on June 18 and 19. The ceremonies will be shown on the district’s Facebook page and YouTube channel, the Columbus Educational Access Channel and the district’s public radio station, WCBE (90.5 FM).
